Course Summary

The course aims to help the participants understand Automation technologies. Develop the ability to recognize, articulate and solve industrial problems using automation technologies. In this course, following automation systems program skills and knowledge are developed. 3 brands of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, third PLC of choice), Allen Braley Control Logic PAC, Siemens HMI, Intouch SCADA, Danfoss and Siemens VFD, IIoT Basics with HMS.

I enrolled to a full course at IIPD that covers Automation System Expert (ASE) and Certified BMS Professional (CBP). As an individual new to Automation and BMS I was taught and guided very well by my tutors. From the basics of theory to practical troubleshooting.
I am particularly impressed by the amount of material available for reference and study. Which challenged me to test my problem-solving and creative skills. I did my Automation System Expert with TUV Rhineland certification at the institute over a period of 9 months on weekends. My tutors were very supportive and highly knowledgeable with excellent and flexible scheduling support from the training coordinator. The lab was very well equipped with PLCs and drives from all major suppliers. The handson courses involved industrial type assignments with HMI/SCADA GUI engineering and its interfacing to PLC through appropriate server configuration resulting in a comprehensive understanding of automation system architecture and configuration. Overall it was a great learning experience !
